It's been awhile, hasn't it? No? Well, it sure felt like it to me. Anyways, my first finished piece for the new year. This is tentatively called the 'North Star' after Mucha's version. But for the most part I've been calling it either 'second attempt' or 'strawberry shortcake' for the first time I tried coloring this and I had it all in pink. It just took me a year to finally trash that idea and start fresh.
This was all done in photoshop. Funnily enough I didn't have any references, so if it looks wonky...now you know why. Josh helped me out with the sparkly and 'oh-so-pretty' glitzies in this piece. I haven't totally grasped the whole idea behind layer effects...hence why Josh helped me out. I admit I'm not very good at stuff like that. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
